Hi, I'm Bea! I create text-based games in Twine and narrative games in Ren'py (and am dabbling in TTRPGs and LARP). In 2021 I completed a commission for NEoN Digital Arts to create a Manifesto for Digital Arts, which you can find on this page. I'm currently continuing my work (*very* slowly) on "can i talk to you about rest", a visual novel made in Ren'py which I began as part of the Self Care Jam, a research jam run by the National Videogame Museum and the University of Nottingham in August 2021. I'm very into representations of consent in games and using games for sex and relationships education. In August 2022 I co-created "The Amazing Sex Scene Rewrite" at the Clitical Hits research game jam.

In May 2021 I presented my "Using Safety Tools For Creative Freedom" roundtable at the Bradley University Zones of Connection Symposium, and in October 2021 I spoke on the "Sex Positivity and Relationships" panel with Meguey Baker (!) at METATOPIA ONLINE 2021. I still can't believe it happened either.  

I'm currently (2022-2024) pursuing an MPhil in Game Studies where I essentially do user research on players' perception and use of safety tools in TTRPGs that pertain to romance or sexuality, and am hoping to upload a lot more frequently! ✨
